Provides access to three levels of encyclopedic information: World Book Kids (elementary), World Book Student (high school – recommended), World Book Advanced (adult), and Decouvertes (French Language) articles. World Book is interactive, and easy to use and manage.
Encyclopedia of BC
Provides access to thousands of articles on all aspects of British Columbia: history, economy, healthcare, First Nations, immigration, geography, and government.
Contains facts, sound clips, videos and maps – all things BC! Excellent resource to support Socials Studies research.
EBSCO
Provides access to multiple Canadian, student-friendly databases: Search-a-Saurus (elementary encyclopedia), Kid Search (middle school encyclopedia), Student Research Centre (high school encyclopedia), Canadian Points of View Reference Centre (search by topic…government, health, people, places, etc.), Consumer Health Complete (anything related to health, sciences, medicine), Canadian Student Research Centre (massive database of articles in any media – easy to use), Novelist and Novelist Plus (amazing database of books by subject, awards, book summaries, and groupings…a Librarian’s Dream)!
ERAC
ERAC is the electronic version of the full-text Canadian Periodical Index, and provides the most-requested Canadian reference information available. More difficult to use. Recommended for teachers.
