Dear Parents and Guardians of Gr. 7 Students,
We are really excited to have your child join us next week for their first year at Don Ross Middle School. We couldn’t think of a better way to start the Don Ross experience by doing a day trip to Camp Summit. This will allow the students and staff to engage with one another in a fun and supportive experiential learning environment to build relationships and community.
Your child's class will either attend on September 4th, or 5th. We will send out information on September 3rd confirming which day your child will be attending Camp Summit. On camp day, students will meet at school for a regular start time at 8:30 and join the bus to ride to camp with their class. They will return to school at approximately 4:30pm.
Permission forms will come home with your child on the first day of school (September 3rd) and will need to be signed and returned to your child's teacher the next day (September 4th).
School cash online has been set up to receive payments of $55 for each student. We will need to receive payment by September 3rd. Lunch is included in the cost and will be provided by Camp Summit. If your child has any dietary restrictions, please inform Mr. Strudwick via email at [email protected] by Friday, August 30th. For those that require financial assistance, please contact us directly and we can make arrangements to ensure everyone can participate.
A day trip packing list is attached with suggested items. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the day and has snacks and a water bottle.
